  2. What options do you need on the Corolla to allow you to use this? I assume it comes already with some sort of lane-keep option from the factory? Or even if it doesn't have that feature, the hardware for steering is still there?

  3. How did you manage to buy a Corolla for $2000? They cost about 10-15x in South Africa where I live, and that's for last years model. not even the 2020 model. FML…
R280 100 for a manual base model with no extras converted to USD is 19,564.15USD
R336 600 for CVT prestige model, converted to USD is 23,493.36USD

could literally buy your one, ship it here with 15k USD shipping and end up paying less.

  4. No shit..Jesus died 2019 yrs ago and you guys are developing an AI while you're filming with a toaster. wtf?

  5. Driving a Corolla from a phone with openpilot – Phantom
    How cool is that?

  6. He should have gotten the hybrid. Electric braking control, and drastically better fuel economy for testing.

  13. I wanna be in a financial position where I can take the trim off a brand new Toyota Corolla and scratch the dash by dropping it and not care

  14. Who's the idiot in the stream that said Corollas are disposable cars?
Corollas last longer, and are more reliable than all the other styrofoam and plastic cup cars out there. BMW, Chevy, Audi, etc.

  15. Y no Jo Ro? I’d be very interested in you explaining and open pilot in an extended format.

  16. Can we put this inverted on a drone and chase the license plate……..they already do that……ELSAG camera on it… no one can run…GPS meets racing quad and turns off GPS to the next point.

  17. This is actual development, spends 30 minutes trying to ssh lel spends half of that time trying to figure out the ip lmaoo love this shit

  18. That dash console is ugly. Wish it was flush with the dashboard, probably the reason I'll go Honda route again.

  19. Otras palabras. Este chico. Es considerado uno de los mejores programadores que ha fabricado un automóvil autónomo que instalará dos Toyota.

  21. 30:56 did your friend really say "process"… anyway, why would anyone pay YOU for testing your devices and sending you data for a system that doesn't do anything under 30 mph and doesn't allow you to release control and responsibility of driving… you basically still have to do all the driving and all the mental work. Your business model isn't much more than selling a toy that provides a negative value to the purchaser. Now the customer has to set the thing up, trouble shoot it, and deal with an obstructed view for what? nothing

  22. Why would somebody pay $600 for this? You're letting people spy on you while you drive, and you've got nothing more than a glorified cruise control. If you take your eyes off the road, the system shuts down. How is that any different from driving? I would argue it's actually worse, because I don't trust these systems yet. Especially if the company refuses to accept liability or responsibility. If a company doesn't have faith in their product, why would I? Do a cost benefit analysis on this. You lose privacy, turn yourself into data a company can monetize, you allow software (with no incentive to preserve life) to control your car, and in return you get some product that steers your car for you (most of the time) lol. In my opinion these companies should be paying drivers to install these systems in their cars, not the other way around.
