You can use Squarespace Logo to create a custom a logo for your site. When you visit squarespace.com/logo you’ll want to enter the name you’d like to appear in your logo. Then click the arrow to continue. The next thing you may want to do is add a tagline. This is usually a short phrase used to describe your business or site. You can add the tagline in the field at the top of the side panel. You can then choose an icon from the sidebar to accompany your logo name and tagline. If you have a specific image in mind, use the search feature to filter your results. When you find an image you like click to select it. You can click a new one if you change your mind. You can select any aspect of the logo on the grid to edit the available options. When clicking the icon you’ll have the option to adjust the fill color using either a color chart or a hexadecimal number. This is great, if your company uses a specific palette of colors, or if you’re creating a new brand with Squarespace Logo. When clicking on the name and tagline, you can adjust the font family, font color, font weight, and font style. If you click on more than one element of your logo, you’ll see options for adjusting the layout and alignment of your logo. You can use the Alignment options to adjust the placement of the logo name and tag line in relation to each other. You can use the Layout options to adjust where your logo name and tagline are placed in relation to the icon. If you prefer, you can simply click and drag any element of the logo to move it. You can also change the structure of the grid by hovering your cursor over the gear icon in the upper left corner of the grid. The Guides option will toggle on and off the guide lines that show you where on the grid that element is aligned. The Snap to Grid option will allow you to always align the elements to the dots on the grid. If you turn that option off, you can place the elements wherever you’d like, instead of being aligned on the grid. The grid size option will allow you to chose how large or small the grid is. Once you have finished your logo, click the “Save Logo” button on the bottom left corner of the page. You’ll then be prompted to download your logo. You can download a watermarked, lower resolution image for free or a high resolution image, which is free for current Squarespace customers or $10 otherwise. If you’d like to download a high resolution logo, and you’re not a Squarespace customer yet, fill out your billing information, then click the “Buy For $10” button. If you’re an existing Squarespace customer, click the circle to indicate this below the fields. Then enter your login information. Click the “Download For Free” button to download the logo. You can download the logo as three versions: the color image you’ve created, a white on black version, and a black on white version, all as PNG files. You can also select the width of your image by clicking the “UP TO Pixels” button in the lower right corner. You’ll soon receive an email allowing you to come back and edit your logo at any time. You can edit the colors and font of your logo, but you cannot edit the logo name, tagline, or shape without creating a new logo. After you’ve downloaded your logo, you can add it to your Squarespace site. Once logged into your site, click Design within your Home Menu. Click Logo & Title and find the Logo Image area. You can drag your logo image from your computer’s desktop directly to this spot, and your image will upload. Save your changes when you’re done, and preview your site to see how it looks.
